What you’ll make

Create a clean final image that fits its destination without losing the important subject.

Step by step

  1. Decide where the image will appear and check that destination’s current dimensions or crop requirements. Make a copy of the original so experiments with resizing and compression do not overwrite your master file.
  2. Crop around the subject and leave space for any title or caption you plan to add. Inspect the composition in the actual container shape. A strong wide image can become confusing when automatically cropped to a narrow portrait.
  3. Use an image editing or finishing workflow in ArtFlame.ai if the image needs a creative adjustment. Then inspect the finished image at full size for text errors, edge artifacts, and details that changed. Do not assume an upscale restored detail that was never present.
  4. Export in a format appropriate to the artwork and the destination. Compare the exported file with the original at its display size. For pixel art, pay special attention to softened edges; for photographic images, look for compression blocks around high-contrast details.

Example prompt

Keep the central subject and its recognizable details. Simplify the background into clean shapes with room above the subject for a title added later. Preserve the existing color palette and make the focal point clear in a vertical crop.

Review your result

Open the actual exported file, not only the editor preview. Confirm that the subject is visible, any lettering is correct, and the file loads at a practical size.

If the first attempt misses

If compression damages fine edges, try a less aggressive setting or a different supported format. If the crop feels cramped, return to the composition instead of stretching the image.

Your next exercise

Export two sizes and compare them in a simple draft blog post. Keep the smallest file that still looks clear at the intended display size.
