How to quickly setup and use this theme.
In order to install the theme, you have two options:
Appearance > Themes
. Here, you should see a thumbnail of Scribe theme.You will be promted in the WordPress Dashboard to install theme required plugins. Follow the prompts to install them.
Demo content has been included in your download to make it easier to set up the theme. It is of course completely optional.
Tools/Import
'appearance/customize'
and slect the 'Static Front Page' tab. Set the 'Front page'.Note: You can leave the 'Posts Page' set to the default 'select'.
This theme features advanced customization features with live preview. Click on 'appearance/customize'
to open the customizer.
Colors
The highlight color of the theme can be set.
Logos
You can upload a header logo & a logo to be used in the footer section of the site.
Typography
Select one of the google fonts form the dropdown to be used in the theme
Social
You can enter any social links in this section you would like to appear in the footer.
Footer
Scribe features dynamic sidebars. This means you can create a new sidebar for any page or post.
Appearance/Widgets
you will see the new sidebar. Drag and drop the desired widgets into the sidebar.Underneath Page header you will notice a box titled 'Dynamic heading Text'. You can rotate a word in your heading for an effect as seen in the demo.
What you need to do is wrap the word you want to replace in your page title in span tags like below.
This is your <span>page</span> title
You can then enter the replacement word in the Dynamic heading field.
You will want to go to appearance/menus
and change the 'label' of the menu item to remove the extra tags.
Note: - The image that is used is the page/post 'featured image'.
To create a parallax header, you can use the 'default' template with a 'featured image'.
Note: -You will need to enter the 'slider alias' in the 'add slider alias' field in the right margin of your page editor.
To build a new template or page section go to appearance/page builder
. Now you can enter a name for your new template and save it. After this it is as easy as dragging the blocks onto your new template.
Now when you create a new page in WordPress you can add the template page you just created by clicking the ‘add template’
button at the top of the page editor.
You can create page sections and save them as templates. Use them anywhere in your pages.
Note: - The contact block require Contact Form 7 plugin. You can then create different contact forms for sections of your website.
A Few Key Page-Builder Blocks
This block can be used to create columns. Drag it to the template and you can place other blocks inside it. The columns can be resized by dragging the edges. This block is very useful for keeping your template layouts clean and tidy. If you’ve imported the demo content you will see some examples.
You can use this block to load a 'parallax'
background section. Much like the colum block you can place other blocks inside the parallax block.
This block lets you upload app screenshots with a description and some cool animations.
Note: screenshot image templates is in 'extras' folder included with theme.
This is another important block to keep your content neat and tidy. The clear block will start a new row. This is especially helpful when columns or blocks have uneven lengths. Be sure to use this block.

Before proceeding to adding items, we need to add categories that will be used as sorting filter in the front-end. Go to Portfolio » Portfolio Categories
under admin menu. Enter a title for the category in the Name
text field and click on Add New Portfolio Category
. Repeat this step to add more categories.
Now we're ready to add your first portfolio item. Go to Portfolio » Add New Item
under admin menu. Give a title to your newly added item and enter some content that best describes the project in the default editor. On the left hand side of the screen find the section with the title - "Portfolio Categories"
select the categories which the project falls under. You can also add more categories from inside this box.
Next we need to set a default image. Below the category box is the "Featured Image"
section. Click on the Set Featured Image
link. Select the image you want and click on Set Featured Image

To add a slideshow, navigate to the slideshow section below the WordPress Editor. Here you can add any number of slides(images or videos) to your slideshow. Click on the +
button to add a slide of that particular type.
For an Image Slide you can select its image by clicking on the Select Image
button on the added slide. And for Video Slide you can copy the video URL to the text field. YouTube and Vimeo videos are supported.
Once again press the Publish
button to save the item into WordPress.
